KATHMANDU, May 22: The government has hiked the prices of LPG gas cylinder by Rs 200 each cylinder and petroleum products by Rs 10 per liter.
The hike in the prices of petroleum products comes within a week after the state-owned Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) hiked the prices of petrol, diesel and kerosene by Rs 10 per liter.
LPG price down by Rs 25 per cylinder
As per the revised prices, the cost of a cooking gas cylinder will now cost Rs 1,800-- up from Rs 1,600. The NOC has been maintaining that it incurred a loss of Rs 1050.16 in each cooking gas cylinder before the latest hike.
With the latest hike in the prices, petrol will now cost Rs 180 per liter and diesel and kerosene Rs 163 per liter. The NOC has also hiked the aviation fuel (domestic) by Rs 10 per liter.
NOC Spokesperson Binit Mani Upadhyay said the NOC faces Rs 3.35 billion even after the latest hike in the prices of petroleum products.
