Nov 22: 6 things to know by 6 PM

Last respects were offered to CPN (Maoist Center)'s central advisor and a "people's singer", Khusiram Pakhrin at the Maoist Center party office here this morning. Pakhrin passed away on Tuesday due to the heart attack. He collapsed while singing a song in a joint mass meeting and condolence programme of Prakash Dahal, son of Maoist Centre chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', who died in Kathmandu due to the same cause on Sunday.

Returning officers heading toward polling stations in Khotang


With federal parliamentary and provincial elections less than a week away from returning officers are heading toward polling stations in the district. Returning officers and assistant returning officers are heading toward polling stations along with 64 types of election materials including ballot boxes, ballot papers, ink, and stamp pad, among others.

Two IEDs planted at NC leader Thapa's house yard defused


Two improvised explosive devices (IEDs) found at the house yard of ward member of Shivapuri rural municipality-4 of Nuwakot and Nepali Congress leader, Uddhav Thapa, have been defused today. A bomb disposal team of the Nepal Army from Shreenath Battalion, Devighat, deactivated the IEDs, said Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Madhukarjung Bista.
