KATHMANDU, Aug 17: The foreign workers in Nepal will now have the convenience of obtaining labor permits and licenses through an online platform. The latest information from the Department of Labor and Occupational Safety, operating under the Ministry of Labor, Employment, and Social Security, highlights this development.

The department has revealed that comprehensive preparations are underway for the launch of the Integrated Labor Management Information System (ILMIS), scheduled to commence on August 18. This advanced system aims to streamline the process of labor permit and license issuance for non-Nepali citizens, making it accessible through online channels.

Activities such as trade union registration and renewal, labor supplier registration and renewal, reporting occupational accidents, submitting labor audits, and registering establishments can now be conveniently accomplished online.

For the ease of service users, the Department has established a user-friendly online portal at "http://ilmis.dolos.gov.np" for submitting applications.
