KATHMANDU, Oct 9: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) is set to launch a new currency note exchange service beginning October 16 in preparation for the upcoming Dashain and Tihar festivals. The central bank issued a notice on Sunday to inform the public about this service.

The NRB has a tradition of offering the option to obtain new currency notes each year during the festival season. In the Kathmandu Valley, individuals can acquire fresh banknotes through the Currency Management Department under the NRB and the branches of various commercial banks. Commercial banks will need to source these notes from the NRB to ensure their availability for customers.
