KATHMANDU, June 15: Nepal Students Union (NSU), the student wing of the Nepali Congress, has demanded electric induction stoves for all students across the country at a subsidized price.
A team led by the President of NSU Dujang Sherpa demanded the same with the Alternative Energy Promotion Center's leadership in a meeting held on Tuesday.
The NSU team met Center's Technical Director Dr Narayan Prasad Adhikari and urged him to consider distributing induction stoves to all students at a subsidized price.

The Center recently announced plans to provide electric induction stoves free of cost to students from targeted communities, especially those from remote areas and pursuing their education in rented rooms in the Kathmandu Valley.
The Center also called for applications from the college and university students to apply with necessary documents for electric induction stoves.
Welcoming the decision of the Center to provide this facility to students from indigenous and Dalit communities, the NSU visiting delegation demanded the same scheme for all students based on the principle of necessity.
NSU demanded for the same, arguing that the electric induction stove was the basic need of students and all students should, thus, fit in the scheme of the Center.
