NT bans Facebook during office hours

KATHMANDU, April 25: The Nepal Telecom has made arrangements for the operation of around 550 government websites (gov.np domain) free of cost in its GSM mobile services.

KATHMANDU, April 25: The Nepal Telecom has made arrangements for the operation of around 550 government websites (gov.np domain) free of cost in its GSM mobile services. 


The company shared information about this through a press meet here on Tuesday. On the occasion, managing director Kamini Rajbhandari said the Company was committed to making its services customers-friendly and technology-friendly, and had been successful in launching the 3G internet service in Rara Lake area, the major tourist destination in Mugu district.

The company hoped that the availability of this service in that area would help promote local tourism with people's increased access to information and communication. 


According to company spokesperson Pratibha Baidya, the company has banned its employees to use Facebook during office hours from April 14. Besides, preparations are on to expand the 4G internet service from the upcoming fiscal and to readjust old systems into new ones. RSS
