KATHMANDU, Oct 29: Nepal Telecommunication Authority (NTA) is installing ‘International Call Monitoring System (ICMS)’ targeting to ensure effective surveillance on government revenue collection, fraud detection and quality assurance.
According to NTA, it has called for international bidding to purchase necessary equipment for the system. These include an international call monitoring system probes, customized drive, test equipment and related accessories.

Earlier, the NTA courted controversy after it was alleged that NTA was procuring necessary equipment at relatively higher costs. After the Supreme Court issued its verdict to carry out procurements through the previous process, the NTA has resumed the process to install the ICMS.
