MUGLING July 5: The diver training conducted at Nepal’s Disaster Management Training School (DMTS), run by the Armed Police Force (APF) in Kurintar, has completed. The training was conducted by the DMTS from May 22, on the river banks of Trishuli River, Ichchhakamana-4 Kuringhat, Chitwan.
Ganga Narayan Shrestha, Minister for Internal Affairs and Law, Bagmati Province, urged the freshly-trained divers to dedicate their knowledge, skills and experience to human service with sincerity to protect the lives of citizens who are at risk of disasters.

He said, “Monsoon has started in the country, and our goal is to ensure the safety of citizens' lives.” Krishna Prasad Silwal, a provincial assembly member, said that APF has been playing a crucial role for the security of citizens. Nineteen people participated in the 36-day training program, supported by the province government.
Additional Inspector General (AIG) of APF, Banshiraj Dahal, said that the number of professional rescue divers in Nepal has now reached 110. Madhav Prasad Paudel, Senior Superintendent of Armed Police Force, the commander of the DMTS, said that the trainees received training from the Trishuli River at Kurintar, Chitwan, Phewa Lake, located in Pokhara, Kaski and the Koshi River, Sunsari. The trainers demonstrated a model exercise related to water-related accident rescue.
The mayors and deputy mayors of local municipalities of Chitwan and Gorkha, Brigadier General Roz Pratap Junga Bahadur Rana of Nepal Army No 6 Brigade, Baireni Barracks of Dhading, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Kamal Giri, Executive Director of National Armed Police Force Training Academy, Ganesh Thada Magar, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of APF, Nepal No. 3 Gadhimai Brigade Headquarters and chief district officers of Chitwan, Dhading and Gorkha were present at the program.
