KATHMANDU, Nov 28: The number of people who smoke cigarettes has decreased in Nepal.


According to the data released by World Statistics on Monday, the number of smokers in Nepal has decreased by 34.1 percent between the years 2000 and 2020. Among the 43 countries mentioned in the statistics, the number of smokers has decreased by the highest percentage in Nepal.

If we look at the statistics of the world, the number of smokers has decreased by 11.19 percent.


It is reported that the number of smokers has decreased by 27.3 percent in neighboring India and 1.1 percent in China. The country where the number of smokers has not decreased is Egypt. The number of smokers increased by 4.1 percent in Jordan.
