KATHMANDU, Jan 14: The Occupy Tudikhel Campaign has objected to the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC)'s plan to construct football fields in the Tudikhel area.
The campaign issued a statement saying that it has recently received information that two football fields are going to be built in the Khula Manch and has objected to it.

The campaign said that the football ground should not be built because of the cultural, historical and natural importance of the place.
KMC has already prepared a detailed project report (DPR) for constructing two football fields there.
Earlier, the metropolis had put forward a plan to build an underground parking lot in Khula Manch. A consensus was also reached in the executive meeting for that. However, it was withdrawn for the time being due to widespread protests.
