KATHMANDU, Sept 23: The official program of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal's visit to China commences today, with a scheduled meeting between him and Chinese President Xi Jinping.
The bilateral meeting between Prime Minister Dahal and Chinese President Jinping will be held in Hangzhou. Addressing the United Nations General Assembly, Prime Minister Dahal went directly to China from New York on Friday.
Prime Minister Prachanda and President Jinping will meet before starting the opening ceremony of the Asian Games in Hangzhou, the Prime Minister's Secretariat has stated.
DPM Shrestha returns home from China
After a brief meeting at 12 noon today, Prime Minister Prachanda and President Jinping had lunch at the same resort. After that, it is said that a bilateral meeting will be held at 4PM.
Then PM Dahal will attend the opening ceremony of the Asian Games at 8 pm. Prime Minister Prachanda will go to Beijing tomorrow. There is a meeting with Chinese counterpart Li Qiang.
PM Dahal is scheduled to address the Nepal-China Investment Conference jointly organized by the Confederation of Industry and Commerce and the China International Trade Promotion Council at the Nepali Embassy in Beijing.
After that, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has informed that PM Dahal has a program to inspect agricultural and industrial development in Chongqing Municipality.
Prime Minister Dahal's China visit team includes Private Secretary Ganga Dahal, Foreign Minister NP Saud, Water Supply Minister Mahindra Rai Yadav, Physical Infrastructure and Transport Minister Prakash Jwala, National Security Advisor Shankar Das Bairagi, Planning Commission Vice Chairman Min Bahadur Shrestha and other government officials and officials of Federation of Commerce and Industry.
The delegation led by the Prime Minister will return home on September 30 after visiting Lhasa, China's Tibet Autonomous Region, which has a border with Nepal.
