Okhaldhunga sees 18 new cases of COVID-19

OKHALDHUNGA, Sept 14: Eighteen more persons have been found to be infected with novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Okhaldhunga.

OKHALDHUNGA, Sept 14: Eighteen more persons have been found to be infected with novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Okhaldhunga.


According to Suman Tiwari, chief of the District Public Health Office, 18 fresh cases were detected while conducting COVID-19 tests through the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method.


Of the total 102 persons whose swab specimens were collected and sent for testing, 18 have tested positive for the virus.

Earlier, there were 12 active cases of COVID-19 in the district. With the new cases, the coronavirus case tally in the district has reached 30.


As of today, 28 COVID-19 patients have been discharged after recovery.


Woman gives birth to baby in isolation


A woman has given birth to a baby while staying in isolation at Okhaldhunga Community Hospital.


The woman tested positive for the virus on Sunday. She gave birth to the baby at around 1AM on Sunday midnight.


The health of both the mother and the newborn is normal, according to the hospital.
