KATHMANDU, Jan 28: KP Sharma Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal have been meeting at the latter’s residence at Khumlatar to reach conclusion on party’s unification and way forward.

Following speculations that Dahal, chairperson of CPN (Maoist Center) would not be kept as chair of the Left Alliance, central leaders from the party had taken a stand not to unite with the Left Alliance. Amid rising concerns, Oli and Dahal have met at latter’s residence for the first time.

Likewise, the working committee of the Left Alliance is also meeting at 3 PM today to reach agreement on National Assembly elections, provincial government and other issues at UML’s parliamentary office, Singhadurbar.

If things are to reach consensus, the working committee’s meeting will also nominate chief ministers, provincial speakers and ministers on the basis of qualifications, Matrika Yadav, central leader of CPN (Maoist Center) said.

The committee, which had earlier reached an agreement on seats for National Assembly, were given additional responsibility to forge consensus on provincial government by Oli and Dahal.
