KATHMANDU, August 29: The CPN-UML has directed its leaders and cadres to devote themselves for the election campaigns as the party is under pressure to garner more votes in view of the electoral alliance of the five ruling parties.

Addressing the first meeting of the party's central election campaign committee on Sunday, Chairman Oli asked the party rank and file to work tirelessly with self-confidence and determination to gain a majority for the party in the upcoming parliamentary and Provincial Assembly polls.

On the occasion, Oli said that UML's victory in the upcoming elections is not only for the party but also to safeguard the entire nation. He argued that the UML has policies to make the country developed and prosperous and bring happiness to people.

Oli also alleged that the ruling parties were spreading rumors against his party on the citizenship bill. “The UML firmly believes anyone who has obtained citizenship by birth should acquire citizenship by descent,” he said.
