KATHMANDU, Sept 20: Olympian Surendra Bahadaur Hamal has launched his autobiography “Olympian” at National Sports Council, Tripureshwor in the Capital City on Tuesday.
The book was jointly lauched by the Olympians — Anita Maharjan (Shooting), Pushpa Ojha (Athletics), Sangina Baidhya (Taekwondo), Jangdish Pradhan (Weightlifting) and Hamal himself.

“Olympian”—the first autobiography of a Nepali sportsmen, is an inspirational book especially for aspiring Nepali players. In the book, Hamal, as a storyteller, has beautifully shared his passionate sports journey along with the challenges he had encountered while achieving his dreams.
During the function, Hamal shared his short life stories that he had missed in the book.Various members of the Olympic Committee also accompanied the session.
Including various national sports events, Hamal has also represented Nepal in South Asian Games (SAG), Olympics and other international sports events in the weightlifting category.
Hamal is also Nepal’s first weightlifting medalist.
