One arrested for defrauding people in the name of sending them to Portugal

KATHMANDU, April 27: The police have arrested a young man on the charge of swindling various people out of Rs 1.3 million by making fake promises to send them to Portugal.

KATHMANDU, April 27: The police have arrested a young man on the charge of swindling various people out of Rs 1.3 million by making fake promises to send them to Portugal.


Kritak Bahadur Saud, who got arrested is a permanent resident of Tikapur Municipality, Kailali and resides temporarily in Tikathali of Lalitpur. He was arrested by the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office of Nepal Police.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Somendra Singh Rathore, the information officer of the office, mentioned that Saud made fake promises to the victims, saying he would send them to Portugal for foreign employment.


SP Rathore added, “Saud took Rs 1.392 million from the victims, promising them that they would get a monthly salary of Rs 200,000 in Portugal.”


According to the police, Saud said that he would send them to Portugal and escaped after sending them to Azerbaijan. The police arrested him from Sinamangal in Kathmandu on Wednesday and sent him to the Department of Foreign Employment in Buddhanagar for further investigation.
