JHAPA, Aug 31: A woman was killed and at least 18 were injured in a road accident on Saturday after a bus hit a scooter at Jamunkhadi of Kankai municipality-1 in Jhapa.
The District Police Office, Jhapa has confirmed the death of scooter rider Sujan Pokhrel of Bhadrapur municipality-9 in the accident.

The passenger bus (Me 11 Pa 8977) en route to west from east struck the scooter (Ko 1 Kha 7204) heading towards the same direction, leaving the rider injured who later breathed her last at Birtamod-based B&C Hospital.
At least 18 bus passengers have been injured and are undergoing treatment at the same hospital.
Meanwhile, in another accident, 65-year-old Nandakali Subedi of Sainamaina municipality-1 in Rupandehi died after she was hit by a Bolero jeep (Lu 1 Ja 1746) at Bankatta. The accident happened today, Province 5 Traffic Police Office Butwal's Superintendent of Police Madhusudan Luintel said.
