One dead after stepping on live electric wire in Baglung

DHORPATAN, Nov 17: One person died in Baglung after accidently stepping on a live electric wire lying on the ground. Bajbir Nepali, 62, a resident of Nisikhola Rural Municipality-3 Dhuwahkhor, Kaule, succumbed to electrocution today.

DHORPATAN, Nov 17: One person died in Baglung after accidently stepping on a live electric wire lying on the ground. Bajbir Nepali, 62, a resident of Nisikhola Rural Municipality-3 Dhuwahkhor, Kaule, succumbed to electrocution today.


Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and spokesperson for the District Police Office, Madan KC, said that Nepali accidently stepped on a live wire near the Nisikhola II small hydropower project while en route to Dhubakhor market from his village. He died on the spot.

Upon witnessing the incident, locals promptly informed the police, and a team from the local police office in Burtibang has since reached the location. DSP KC stated that an investigation into the matter is currently underway. Some residents allege that Nepali died due to the negligence of the workers of the hydropower project.
