KATHMANDU, Dec 29: One person died in a clash between EPS examinees and the police in Balkumari, Lalitpur,  on Friday afternoon. 


Sujan Raut, 23, who was taken to Kist Hospital in Imadol for treatment after being injured in the clash, breathed his last, according to police sources. He hails from Dailekh.

Amish Pathak, CEO of the hospital, confirmed Raut's death. "After he was found unconscious on the road, the locals picked him up and took him to the hospital at 12:40 AM," Pathak told Republica.


Earlier, the agitating EPS examinees set fire on the government vehicle used by Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Prakash Jwala. Since then, the Gwarko area has remained tense. 


Police also fired tear gas and bullets. Dozens of protesters have been arrested by the police on charge of their involvement in arson.
