TAPLEJUNG, Sept 2. A woman was killed and five others were injured after being struck by lightning strikes in two separate places of Taplejung district on Tuesday.
The incident took place at Fungling Municipality-10, Furambu. The deceased has been identified as Durga Bhattarai. She breathed her last while being rushed to the district hospital for treatment.

Likewise, five others including two from Tellok and three from Pedang of Sirijunga Rural Municipality were injured in the lightning strike. The injured are currently undergoing treatment at a local health facility. Taplejung has witnessed heavy rainfall coupled with thunderstorms for the past few days.
