KATHMANDU, June 3: A woman lost her life while seven other people were injured in a jeep accident on Monday. The jeep which was en route to Butwal from Bharse, Gulmi, met with the accident at Purtighat.
According to the information officer at the District Police Office, Deputy of Superintendent of Police (DSP) Shankar Pokharel, a bolero jeep (Ga 2 Cha 3262) en route to Butwal from Bharse, Gulmi, met with the accident in Okeng, Purtighat, Gulmi Kaligandaki Rural Municipality-4 on Monday morning.
Three killed, seven injured in jeep accident in Gulmi
Kamala Budhathoki, 32, of Bharse, Satyawati Rural Municipality-8, died on the spot whereas seven other people were injured in the accident. Among the wounded are Rita Chhantel, 37, of Bharse, Satyawati-8, along with her daughter Irisha Chhantel, 4, Tek Bahadur Kala, 75, and Megh Bahadur Baral, 23. The other injured include Ajay Nepali, 26, Durpati Baral, 46, and the driver Keshav Rana, 29.
The injured have been sent to Palpa for treatment. Police said the jeep veered off the road about 400 meters from the highway.
