‘Only 20 percent of landless squatters in Kathmandu are genuine...
Mayor of Jitpursimara Sub-Metropolitan City, Dr Krishna Poudel, said, "We are considering three nearby places—Pasaha, Haraiya and Tamagadhi for shifting these families and a study was underway in this connection."
The households have been residing there for the past 44 years on 731 bighas and 14 katthas of unregistered land towards four-kilometer south from a place - Sohra Kilometer - of Pathalaiya-Nijgadh road section.
Eleven bighas of land has been allocated for the construction of second international airport. Shifting the settlement has become the main issue as the runway of the under-construction airport falls in the middle of the settlement.
