Over 1.6 million people vaccinated against COVID-19 in Far Western Province

BAITADI, Feb 4: Over 1.6 million people have so far got COVID-19 vaccines in the Far Western Province.


According to the Province Health Directorate, 1,606, 673 have received the first dose of the vaccine in all nine districts of the Province while the number of fully jabbed people is 1,104,946. In the Province, Kailai is ahead in view of the figure of vaccinated people as 472,974 people here have received the first dose of the vaccines while the number of fully vaccinated is 355,720. Similarly, Dadeldhura has the least number of vaccinated people among all the districts of the province as the number of first-dose receivers is 65,607 while 59,557 are vaccinated the full course.

The government has provided Covishield, AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson, Vero Cell and Pfizer vaccines in the Province.  According to the Directorate, the vaccination campaign in the Province is currently underway. 


People above 12 years of the age are eligible for the shot.  So far, the Province has recorded 58,458 positive cases out of the total tests of 482,417. A total of 625 people have succumbed to the virus in the Province.
