KATHMANDU, June 19: Over 1.8 million farmers have been enlisted in the Farmers Enlisting Program till date.
The government launched the program in 2077 BS to provide assistance and grants to the farmers.
According to the Information Officer at the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, Mahananda Joshi, they were collecting details about the farmers' produce and the land used for producing that, among other findings, at present.

The integrated statistics are being collected from all over the country. A plan is in place to provide assistance and in-kind support such as fertilizers, seeds and other facilities to farmers through digital medium.
The Agriculture Information and Training Center has been coordinating the program which seeks to make a network of farmers in a single platform for the state to provide services and facilities to them through a one-door policy and in the most convenient way.
Farmers will get identity cards which will be the major basis for receiving state facilities, it was shared. A mobile application (App) will be launched to provide technical support and services to farmers, it was shared.
Information about the farmers is being collected through the local governments, said Information Officer Joshi, adding that the program aims to enlist at least 1.2 million farmers in the upcoming fiscal year.
