Over 100,000 tourists visited Nepal in November; 80,000 more tourists needed to achieve 2023 target

KATHMANDU, Dec 1: More than 100,000 foreign tourists entered Nepal in the month of November, 2023. According to the statistics maintained by the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), 108,630 foreign tourists entered Nepal in the month of November. This is the number of tourists arriving by air.

KATHMANDU, Dec 1: More than 100,000 foreign tourists entered Nepal in the month of November, 2023. According to the statistics maintained by the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), 108,630 foreign tourists entered Nepal in the month of November. This is the number of tourists arriving by air.


The Nepal government has set a target of one million tourists in 2023. Along with the month of November, the number of foreign tourists’ influx in Nepal in the 11th month of 2023 has reached 918,308. Now only a little more than 80,000 tourists are needed to meet the government target. In the last month of this year, this figure is expected to be met with the arrival of tourists in December, fulfilling the government's goal for the year 2033.

Maniraj Lamichhane, director and spokesperson for the NTB, said that the government's target of bringing in one million tourists in 2033 will be easily achieved. Lamichhane said, "We are sure that there will be around 100,000 tourists in the month of December as well."


Similarly, the largest number of tourists entered Nepal last October. In October 20123, as many as 117, 306 tourists entered Nepal, setting the highest record so far.
