Pak envoy urges resolution of Kashmir dispute

KATHMANDU, Feb 6: Ambassador of Pakistan Mazhar Javed speaking at a talk program in Kathmandu on Monday called for resolving the dispute on Jammu and Kashmir as per the wishes of the people there.

KATHMANDU, Feb 6: Ambassador of Pakistan Mazhar Javed speaking at a talk program in Kathmandu on Monday called for resolving the dispute on Jammu and Kashmir as per the wishes of the people there.

  "He emphasized dire need for the resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute as per wishes and aspirations of people of Jammu and Kashmir; guaranteed to them by UN resolutions," a statement issued by the embassy of Pakistan quoted the ambassador as saying. "This is also imperative for lasting peace in the region."


The function was attended by representatives from various walks of life including parliamentarians, intellectuals, academicians, media persons and civil society members, read the statement.

February 5 is observed as Solidarity Day by the people of Pakistan around the world, the statement said.
