KATHMANDU, March 1: National cricket team skipper Paras Khadka has been appointed as the goodwill ambassador of National Volunteer Nepal (NVN) on Wednesday.
During a program organized at National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) office at Singha Durbar, Khadka was appointed as the ambassador to increase and strengthen the networks of NVT across the country by inspiring and engaging youths in the rebuilding process.
The NRA has informed that the NVA is an initiative of Himalayan Climate Initiative. NRA Chief Executive Officer Dr Govinda Raj Pokharel expressed his happiness over the appointment of Khadka as goodwill ambassador.
“Youths like Khadka are very much welcome in the reconstruction campaign across the quake-affected districts,” said Pokharel at the function. “The NRA will help those who are willing to help the earthquake victims for their post-disaster reconstruction work.”
“It's my horror to serve as the goodwill ambassador for the NVN to help the earthquake victims,” Khadka expressed his happiness after the announcement. “I will try to make some positive changes in the lives of people in different societies.”
On February 21, the NRA had appointed actors Sitaram Kattel (Dhurmus) and Kunjana Ghimire (Suntali) as its goodwill ambassadors for encouraging integrated settlement development during the reconstruction of the settlements destroyed by the devastating earthquake of April 25, 2015.
