Parliamentarians push for Butwal as Province 5 capital

PALPA, Dec 16: House of Representatives and Provincial Assembly parliamentarians of Palpa have proposed Butwal as the capital of Province 5 in a press statement.


Butwal’s infrastructure development and accessibility makes the district feasible for Provincial capital.  An international airport is currently being constructed in the district. Likewise, it also is a touristic and industrial center, the press statement signed by some representatives of political parties said.

Citing development and potentials of the district, Som Prasad Pandey, House of Representative parliamentarian from Constituency-2 said that Butwal must be selected as the provincial capital and signatories of the press statement stood by it. “Butwal is suitable from every angle. I am confident that the Provincial Government will choose Butwal as well.”


Narayan Prasad Acharya of Provincial Assembly-1 (B) urged concerned stakeholders make the district the provincial capital because of its prosperity, development and tourism industry. Acharya said that he’d work 24/7 to address needs of citizens.
