Former Finance Minister Sharma has also expressed his readiness to hold discussion with the editors of Annapurna Post and Kantipur Daily, which brought out the news about ‘unauthorized persons’ being allowed to enter the ministry a day before the budget speech.
An 11-member parliamentary special investigation committee was formed after the then Finance Minister Sharma was accused of manipulating tax rates by calling unauthorized persons at the finance ministry in the middle of the night while preparing the 2022/23 budget. Sharma resigned as Finance Minister when the Parliamentary Inquiry Committee was formed amid strong protest of the main opposition party, CPN-UML.
