KATHMANDU, March 4: The weather is partly to mostly cloudy over the country with light rain accompanied by thunderstorms at a few places in Karnali, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces.
According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Nepal is currently experiencing the influence of a westerly low-pressure system.
Heavy rainfall likely in some provinces today
According to the meteorological bulletin issued by the MFD earlier at 6 am, the weather will remain partly cloudy to mostly clear in the hilly areas of the country this afternoon.
There is also a possibility of light rain with thunder and lightning in a few places in the hilly areas of Gandaki, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces as well as in one or two places in the hilly areas of the remaining provinces.
The MFD has also informed that there is a possibility of light snowfall in one or two places in the high hilly and mountainous areas of the country.
Similarly, the weather will remain mostly clear in the hilly areas of Koshi and Gandaki provinces including Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces tonight. There is a possibility of light snowfall at one or two places in Koshi, Gandaki, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.
