KATHMANDU, June 13: The Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT) has claimed that the golden Jalhari offered to the Pashupatinath temple contains 10 kg of gold.

Milan Kumar Thapa, member-secretary of the PADT, clarified at a meeting of the National Concerns and Coordination Committee under the National Assembly of the Federal Parliament on Tuesday that the golden Jalhari is made up of 10 kg of gold.

He said that he was ready to be hanged if the Jalhari did not contain 10 kg of gold. Member Secretary Thapa burst into tears saying that the state is trying to make him a scapegoat by ignoring his repeated request to weigh the gold.

Member Secretary Thapa said that the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) cannot make random accusations about the Jalhari case. He claimed that even though he had given the correct information to the Office of the Auditor General, the OAG prepared a misleading report.
