KATHMANDU, Sept 21: The High Court, Patan, on Wednesday issued a show cause notice against Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) regarding its drive to evacuate the encroachment of the Tukucha Khola area along Hattisar-Kamaladi segment.

A single bench of the High Court Justice Kiran Kumar Pokharel asked for the clarification from the KMC. Earlier, a total of 21 writs were filed at the High Court by individuals and organizations including Laxmi Bank in the area.
Last week, a KMC team located a segment of the Tukucha Khola beneath the premises of Jai Nepal Cinema Hall. Afterward, the metropolis also demolished the structure of Laxmi Bank in Kamaladi, which was alleged to have illegally occupied the river area.
