KATHMANDU, Jan 25: The special court has granted permission to detain the suspended Managing Director of Nepal Telecom, Sunil Paudel, and the suspended Executive Director of Security Printing Center Bikal Paudel for seven more days.
A joint bench of the Special Court comprising Chairman Tek Narayan Kunwar, Judges Tej Narayan Singh Rai and Murari Babu Shrestha extended the judicial remand of Paudel duo by seven days for necessary investigation. The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on Wednesday detained them for investigation in connection with investigations into illegal wealth acquisition.
Special Court extends DG Sharma’s remand for 7 days
The Paudel duo argued that there is no ground for their arrest and extending the judicial remand is against the law. They have demanded the court to allow them to hold consultation with their lawyers. The Special Court decided to extend the judicial remand by seven days after holding discussions with both the parties.
