KATHMANDU, Sept 7: Actor Paul Shah (Purna Bikram Shah) is going to appeal against the Nawalpur District Court’s decision to hand him a two-and-a-half years jail term at the Pokhara High Court.
The Nawalpur District Court on Tuesday ruled that Shah should be sentenced to two and a half years in jail after finding him guilty of ‘sexual misconduct with a minor’. The court also ordered Shah to pay a fine of Rs 25,000 and a compensation of Rs 1 million to the victim.

Paul's lawyer Kamala Mohan Wagle has said that they are preparing to file a review complaint as soon as the full text of the court comes out.
Shah has been in police custody, facing trials at two separate district courts, ever since an underage female singer filed a case of rape against him in Nawalpur and Tanahun at the same time.
The district court, however, gave him a clean chit on the rape charge but found him guilty of sexual misconduct with the underage girl singer.
