Shrestha has witnessed a lot of changes over the period. The price of kite which was less than a rupee now has soared to at least 50 rupees per unit.  “I used to sell a small-sized kite for 1 to 2.5 rupees,” he recalls.

Along with the price, the designs of kites have also changed.

When everyone was locked in their homes during the lockdown imposed in March, Shrestha in collaboration with his daughter created a dozen of new designs of kites.

When Republica photojournalist reached his place on Monday, he shared that he makes kites these days primarily to kill time and divert the stress created during the long stay at home.
