KATHMANDU, Nov 16: Police have arrested cadres belonging to Netra Bikram Chand-led Communist Party of Nepal from Sundhara in the capital as they staged a protest against the recent hike in the prices of petroleum products.

KATHMANDU, Nov 16: Police have arrested cadres belonging to Netra Bikram Chand-led Communist Party of Nepal from Sundhara in the capital as they staged a protest against the recent hike in the prices of petroleum products.


The Chand-led party announced a nationwide strike today which has affected vehicular movement across the country.

Nepal Police and Armed Police Force (APF) personnel have been deployed to take control of those enforcing the shutdown. Police have arrested CPN cadres from different parts of the country for enforcing Nepal banda.
