KATHMANDU, July 16: The Parliamentary Hearing Special Committee (PHSC) has unanimously endorsed the name of Gopal Parajuli for the post of Chief Justice on Sunday.
A meeting of the Constitutional Council held on June 30 had recommended Parajuli's name for the post of Chie Justice.

Parajuli will take charge as the Chief Justice once President Bidya Devi Bhandari administers him oath of office and secrecy.
Parajuli had assumed the post of acting Chief Justice (CJ) of Supreme Court after the then CJ Sushila Karki retired from the post on age limit on June 7.
Born in Kanhashivapur-6, Parajuli had started his career in 2026 BS. He was appointed as the judge of appellate court in 2048 and Justice of the Supreme Court in 2071.
