KATHMANDU, Jan 23: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and newly-elected Speaker of the House Devraj Ghimire have held a meeting this morning.


Matters related to contemporary affairs were discussed in the meeting held at the Prime Minister's official residence at Baluwatar, according to the prime minister’s personal secretariat.

Speaker Ghimire had a first meeting with the Prime Minister Dahal after being elected to the post.


Ghimire was elected to the post of the Speaker of the House of Representatives on January 19 with support from the ruling parties. He had received support from the CPN-UML, CPN (Maoist Centre), Rastriya Swatantra Party, Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Janamat Party and Janata Samajwadi Party to secure the position.
