PM Dahal arrives home after six-day Italy visit

KATHMANDU, July 28: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has arrived in Kathmandu after completing his six-day visit to Italy.

KATHMANDU, July 28: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has arrived in Kathmandu after completing his six-day visit to Italy.


Speaker of the House of Representatives, Devraj Ghimire, National Assembly Chairman Ganesh Prasad Timmilsina, Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Purna Bahadur Khadka, Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha, Minister for Tourism Sudan Kirati, among others, received the PM at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA).


Currently, the PM is holding a news conference at the TIA.

PM Dahal left Kathmandu for Italy on July 22 to attend the ‘Food System Summit +2’ organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) at Rome, Italy.


During the visit, Prime Minister Dahal addressed the 'Food System Summit' and said that it is necessary to increase investment in the agriculture sector of the least developed countries to deal with climate change and other calamities and to strengthen those countries’ adaptive capacity.


During his visit to Italy, PM Dahal also had discussions with the representatives of Nepali Progressive Forum, Italy, Belgium, Spain, Croatia, Portugal, Austria and Ireland.


The delegation led by PM Dahal comprised his personal secretary and daughter Ganga Dahal, Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development, Minister Dr Beduram Bhusal, member of National Planning Commission Dr Jayakant Raut, security personnel and media persons.
