PM Dahal directs DDC to expedite payment of dues to farmers for milk purchases

KATHMANDU, Feb 27: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has instructed the Dairy Development Corporation (DDC) to make arrangements for immediate payment of dues to the farmers for milk purchases.


On Monday afternoon, the Prime Minister called Finance Minister Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat, Minister for Agriculture Beduram Bhusal and Chief Secretary of the Government of Nepal Dr Baikunth Aryal and instructed them to ensure prompt payments to farmers.

The Prime Minister ordered the officials to take the initiative to facilitate immediate disbursement of payments owed to farmers by the private sector and to proceed with the process of action if the payment is not made.


"Why have payments to farmers been delayed for several months? Let's address this issue with urgency," he said, "Ensure immediate payments to the farmers from the private sector."
