PM Dahal instructs officials to quickly complete police adjustment process

KATHMANDU, Jan 17: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has directed the officials concerned to complete the police adjustment process as soon as possible. The PM Dahal gave this instruction in the discussion held in Baluwatar this morning.

KATHMANDU, Jan 17: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has directed the officials concerned to complete the police adjustment process as soon as possible. The PM Dahal gave this instruction in the discussion held in Baluwatar this morning.


Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha, other federal ministers, chief secretary to the Government of Nepal, Baikuntha Aryal, Home Secretary Dinesh Bhattarai, Inspector General of Nepal Police Basanta Bahadur Kunwar, officials of the Ministry of Home Affairs were present in the meeting called by PM Dahal to finalize the police adjustment process.

In the meeting, PM Dahal stated that it was difficult for the provinces to work because the federal laws had not been made and the police adjustment process had not been completed.


“The status of implementation of federalism has not met expectations, and provinces are experiencing direct consequences. The functions of Chief Ministers and provincial governments have been hampered,” he said. He added that anti-federalist forces have had a chance to criticize the system and the presence of provincial governments due to this issue. He called for the prompt conclusion of the adjustment process within the next 15 days, under the Act.


The Prime Minister is for completing the process of adjustment within 15 days stating that even after the promulgation of the Nepal Police (Province Police Operation and Coordination) Act 2076, the adjustment has not progressed.
