PM Dahal leaves for Italy to attend UN Food System Summit, DPM Khadka appointed Acting PM in his absence

KATHMANDU, July 22: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal left for Italy on Saturday evening to participate in the United Nations Food System Summit, which will take place in Rome from July 24 to 26.

KATHMANDU, July 22: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal left for Italy on Saturday evening to participate in the United Nations Food System Summit, which will take place in Rome from July 24 to 26.


Prime Minister Dahal's visit to Italy is scheduled to address the Summit on behalf of the Government of Nepal. The summit, known as 'United Nations Food Summit 2023 Stocktaking Moment', seeks to discuss crucial global food-related challenges.

Accompanying Prime Minister Dahal on his trip are Minister of Agriculture and Livestock Development, Beduram Bhusal, National Planning Commission member Jayakant Raut, and the Prime Minister Dahal's daughter, Ganga Dahal.


At the airport, Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister, Narayan Kaji Shrestha, Foreign Minister, Narayan Prakash Saud, Chief Secretary, Dr. Baikuntha Aryal, and other dignitaries were present to bid farewell to the Prime Minister Dahal.


In Prime Minister Dahal's absence from the country, Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister, Purna Bahadur Khadka, will serve as the Acting Prime Minister. President Ramchandra Paudel officially appointed Deputy Prime Minister Khadka to carry out the daily administrative responsibilities of the Prime Minister Dahal while he is abroad.


Prime Minister Dahal's participation in the United Nations Food System Summit is expected to foster important dialogues and contribute to global efforts in addressing food security and related matters.
