PM Dahal receives invitation to 'World Future Energy Summit'

KATHMANDU, Oct 27:Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has been invited to the 'World Future Energy Summit' to be held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on coming January 16-19. 


UAE's Ambassador for Nepal Saeed Hamdan al Naqbi today called on the Prime Minister at the Office of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Singha Durbar, inviting him to the Summit.

During the meeting, the UAE Ambassador expressed his hope that Nepal could reap benefits from its participation in the Summit. This is the first time that Nepal is invited to the Summit. 


In response, the Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to the UAE government for the invitation and said he was keen to attend the Summit, the Prime Minister's Private Secretariat said. 


On the occasion, matters relating to Nepal-UAE bilateral relations and mutual interests were discussed. 


Similarly, the Prime Minister drew the attention of the UAE Ambassador towards granting a pardon to Nepali citizen Amar Bam of Darchula who has been handed death sentence by the UAE Government. He also raised the issues relating to facilities for and security of Nepali workers in the UAE. 


The Ambassador vowed to take up the issues raised by the Prime Minister with the UAE Government. RSS
