Talking to the media after the meeting, Oli said that those involved in the fake Bhutanese refugees scam should be brought under the purview of law.  It may be noted that an arrest warrant has been issued against former energy minister and the secretary of CPN-UML Top Bahadur Rayamajhi for his alleged involvement in the scam.

However, Oli said that in the meeting between the top two leaders, PM’s attention was drawn to the fact that Rayamajhi isn’t someone who should be arrested whilst walking on the street and that conspiratorial attempts were made to arrest him.

“Attempts were made to arrest a lawmaker, who has become a minister multiple times, a deputy PM …that is mysterious,” Oli said to media persons after the meeting, “A sitting MP isn’t going to run away.”
