He explained that attempts have been made to empower more the oppressed communities including the Muslims through the constitution amendment.

Prime Minister Dahal, who is also the chairman of the CPN (Maoist Centre), called for unity to protect and implement the positive things in the constitution that are in favor of the oppressed people while securing the missing things.

Stating that he has not forgotten the contribution the Muslim community has made for bringing change, he urged the community to rest assured of their rights being ensured through the constitution. The Prime Minister also declared on the occasion that one member each from the community would be appointed to the post of minister and ambassador.

He also urged the Muslim community to cooperate in the constitution amendment.

Maoist Centre leader Matrika Yadav said the rights of the oppressed community could not be secured unless there is unity in the community.

At the program, the National Madarasa Association and the Madarasa Islami Association submitted memorandum to the Prime Minister. The memorandum, among other things, calls for recognizing the Madarasa education in the national education, making provisions for scholarship to the Muslims from school level to higher education and bringing a separate Act for governing the Madarasas.
