PM Deuba extends best wishes to Nepalis abroad on occasion of Jitiya festival

KATHMANDU, Sept 29: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba said that the Jitiya festival, mostly celebrated in the Terai region of Nepal, is a special festival that reflects the country’s identity.

KATHMANDU, Sept 29: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba said that the Jitiya festival, mostly celebrated in the Terai region of Nepal, is a special festival that reflects the country’s identity.  


Extending his best wishes and good health to all the Nepali citizens abroad on the occasion of the Jitiya festival, PM Deuba said that our traditions and culture are the main things that reflect our identity as Nepalis.

Stating that unity and social harmony in diversity are examples of cultural practices, he said that the Jitiya festival is one of the festivals that promote unity and peace. He expressed his trust in the festival to deepen the affection and love between all mothers and children. 


Furthermore, PM Deuba said that the government is committed to protecting and promoting cultural and traditional festivals like Jitiya.
