KATHMANDU, Jan 21: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that it is everyone’s duty to follow safety protocols for the control and prevention of the COVID-19 pandemic. He urged all citizens to stay alert and safe during the time of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Addressing the nation through a televised speech on Friday six months after he assumed the office, Prime Minister Deuba wished for the speedy recovery of everyone infected by the deadly virus. He also expressed his deep appreciation for those who have been working relentlessly at the forefront for the last two years even in the midst of the pandemic.

Stating that vaccination is essential to prevent further loss of life due to COVID-19, Prime Minister Deuba said that the vaccination campaign is currently underway across the country. While asking everyone to receive vaccines against the COVID-19, Prime Minister Deuba said that the government will move ahead while minimizing the effect of the pandemic on the economy and social activities.
On the occasion, Prime Minister Deuba urged everyone to stand united to successfully hold the upcoming elections. He argued that it is the responsibility of his government to hold all three-tier elections within a year. Deuba also urged all bodies concerned to prepare for the upcoming elections. He became the prime minister on July 13, 2021.
