PM Oli congratulates Sheikh Hasina on her resounding polls win

KATHMANDU, Dec 31: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has congratulated his Bangladeshi counterpart Sheikh Hasina on the victory of her party with overwhelming majority in the general elections.

KATHMANDU, Dec 31: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has congratulated his Bangladeshi counterpart Sheikh Hasina on the victory of her party with overwhelming majority in the general elections.


Prime Minister Oli telephoned Bangladeshi counterpart Sheikh Hasina and congratulated her on the victory of her party with overwhelming majority in the parliamentary elections. 


“I called today to congratulate Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina on the victory of her party with overwhelming majority in the general elections. I wished her all success ahead,” Oli tweeted.

Bangladesh’s ruling alliance led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has won Sunday’s election with 288 seats giving it enough to form the government, reported Associated Press. 


According to the reports, the ruling Awami League-led alliance won 288 seats while Jatiya Party led by former president H.M.Ershad had 20 seats. An opposition alliance led by prominent lawyer Kamal Hossain had only seven and others got three out of 300 seats.
