"Nepali constitution, democracy and republicanism is now in peril after Deuba extended support to PM Oli's unconstitutional and undemocratic moves," the NC leader said adding that the prime minister is becoming more authoritarian after Deuba's backing.

He stated that NC's official position is that the dissolution of parliament by the prime minister is unconstitutional. "Now, the NC's responsibility is to save the constitution so all the party cadres should firmly stand against the dissolution of parliament. This is the official line of the party," he said.

Poudel said that Deuba has a tacit support to the "unconstitutional" political appointments made by the Oli-led government.
