KATHMANDU, Jan 24: Lawyers participating in the hearing on the House dissolution case have accused Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli of contempt of court.
During the ongoing hearing on the case against the dissolution of the House of Representatives at the Supreme Court, senior advocate Dinesh Tripathi drew the attention of the Constitutional Bench over the recent remarks made by Prime Minister Oli. "Prime Minister Oli is speaking against the judiciary with an intention to interfere with the ongoing hearing at the apex court. It is a contempt of court," he said.

In response, Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana said, "We should not pay attention to what people say outside the court. We should not run after hearsays. I can answer only those questions that are raised at the Constitutional Bench in the course of hearing," he said.
The chief justice said that the Constitutional Bench can't talk about what people say outside the court. "People are talking about many things outside the court. If we listen to everyone, we have to bring them here before the bench and that is not possible. We can't accommodate them here," he said.
Earlier, Prime Minister Oli termed the ongoing hearing at the apex court against the House dissolution “a farce”.
